What is the UAE Golden Visa?
The UAE Golden Visa is a renewable 10-year residence that allows individuals to live, work, and study in the UAE without a local sponsor. It includes expanded family sponsorship rights and other exclusive benefits.
Who Can Apply?
- Real estate investors: Ownership of property(ies) totaling AED 2 million or more. If the property is mortgaged, a bank letter confirming AED 2 million paid is required. Applications in Dubai are handled via Dubai Land Department.
- Investors and entrepreneurs: Routes exist via federal authorities with specific capital, fund deposit, or tax contribution requirements.
- Skilled professionals: Generally require a monthly salary of AED 30,000+, a relevant degree, and (where applicable) a UAE professional license.
- Exceptional talents, scientists, researchers, and creatives: Nomination or accreditation per competent UAE authority.
- Outstanding students and graduates: High-achieving UAE or top international graduates may qualify.

Validity & Renewal
The Golden Visa is valid for 10 years and renewable as long as the holder continues to meet eligibility criteria.

- Choose your route (e.g., property investor, skilled professional). Review criteria on ICP or GDRFA Dubai websites.

Investors: Title Deeds, DLD confirmation, bank letter if mortgaged.
Professionals: MoHRE contract, attested degree, and professional license if required. - Apply online via ICP Smart Services or GDRFA Dubai. Property investors in Dubai may apply through DLD e-services.
- If outside the UAE, obtain a 6-month multiple-entry permit to finalize medical exam and Emirates ID procedures.
Notes & Practical Points
- Parents: Some emirates allow sponsoring parents under Golden Visa family sponsorship (check ICP or GDRFA rules).
- Grace period and travel: Golden Visa holders enjoy flexible grace periods after expiry/cancellation and can stay outside the UAE for more than six months without residence invalidation.
